Opening draw from the Mount Vernon Lacrosse Field set for 1 p.m.
WASHINGTON – George Washington lacrosse will look to make it a 2-0 week when it hosts George Mason on Saturday for a 1 p.m. opening draw at the Mount Vernon Lacrosse Field. Live coverage will be available on ESPN+.
LAST TIME OUT
On Wednesday, GW scored a season-high 19 goals in a dominant 19-8 win over Delaware State. It was the most goals scored by the Buff & Blue since the team scored 20 vs. VCU on April 17, 2016. Kerry McKeever inked her name in the GW record book for second all-time in goals in a game, scoring six in Wednesday's contest. Kianah Watson scored three goals and Emma McLaughlin scored two for her first and second career goals. Katelyn Walker tallied two goals and two assists for a four-point day. Helping cue the GW attack, Stella Ray snagged a game-high six draw controls, with GW holding the 19-10 advantage overall.

The Buff & Blue had 10 different scorers on Wednesday, four of which had multi-goal outings. McKeever's six goals added to her team-leading 28, good enough for sixth in the A-10.Â

Shannon Tuozzo leads the Patriots (2-8, 2-2 A-10) with 28 goals, which is fourth in the conference. Tuozzo is first on the team in draw controls with 38, averaging 3.80/game. Goalkeeper Meghan Deehan is third in the Atlantic 10, averaging 8.80 saves per game with 88 on the season. In last week's contests, the Patriots went 1-1 with a loss at Richmond and a 17-11 win over Duquesne. Â
