Germer, McKeever score two goals apiece
WASHINGTON – GW lacrosse was unable to contain No. 19 UMass' offensive spark on Saturday afternoon, falling 19-4 at the Mount Vernon Lacrosse Field.Â
UMass moved to a three-goal lead in the opening minutes of the game, but Kerry McKeever and Amber Germer quickly matched the offensive output, tallying three straight goals.Â
However, GW's next goal wouldn't come until the fourth quarter, scored by Germer in a woman-up opportunity.Â
NOTEWORTHY
- Germer took a team-high four shots, putting all four on net. Germer also picked up a team-best four ground balls.Â
- Stella Ray picked up three ground balls and caused one turnover.Â
- In addition to her two goals, McKeever tallied two draw controls.Â
- Mia Caro matched her career-best with 12 saves in net.Â
