Lacrosse Hosts No. 19 UMass on Saturday

Opening draw from the Mount Vernon Lacrosse Field scheduled for noon
WASHINGTON – GW lacrosse welcomes UMass to the Mount Vernon Campus Saturday at noon for its first A-10 home matchup of the season.
LAST TIME OUT
GW went 1-1 in the past week, topping La Salle last Saturday, 12-9, for its first A-10 win of the season and the first win of Head Coach Colleen McCaffrey's GW tenure. The Buff & Blue then dropped a tight contest to Monmouth on Monday, falling 15-12 against the Hawks. Kerry McKeever led the offense against La Salle, scoring four goals on six shots. McKeever then tallied three goals at Monmouth and Amber Germer also pocketed three goals to lead the GW attack.
ON THE DRAW
In GW's last two games, the Buff & Blue have held the advantage on draw controls, with a 14-10 edge over La Salle and a 16-15 mark vs. Monmouth. First-year defender Stella Ray snagged 12 across both games, including a game-high seven at Monmouth and matched senior Kianah Watson at La Salle with five apiece.
SCOUTING UMASS
No. 19 UMass sits atop the A-10 rankings with a 7-1 overall record and owns a five-game win streak. First-year Kassidy Morris enters the weekend as the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week after she scored a career-high three goals and added an assist in UMass' win over No. 25 Richmond. Fiona McGowan leads the UMass offense with 18 goals with 31 shots on goal and 18 assists.
