
Gymnastics Posts 195.450 in Regular Season Finale

Whitman matches her career-high on floor to earn first place finish
COLLEGE PARK, Md. – George Washington gymnastics concluded its regular season on Sunday with a 195.450 at the Maryland Five meet in College Park, Md.
Led by Kendall Whitman's career-high matching 9.950 on floor, GW tied its season-best on the event with a 49.300 and added 49.225 on vault, 47.975 on bars and 48.950 on beam to reach the final mark.
Maryland topped the five-team field with 197.100, Towson finished second overall with 196.575, Temple third with 196.250 and Yale fifth with 192.750.
Whitman topped the podium for the second-straight meet with her career-best score, and with the personal best, Whitman has posted a score of 9.900 or better on the event in every meet dating back to February 5.
ROTATION ONE – BARS (47.975)
GW began the afternoon on bars led by Rachel Katz with 9.825. Hannah Munnelly added a 9.800, Anneliese Silverman posted a 9.775, Marlee York scored a 9.500, Libby Garfoot a 9.075 and Deja Chambliss completed the bars rotation with an 8.875.
ROTATION TWO – BEAM (48.950)
Chambliss led the beam lineup with a 9.850 and Katz added a 9.825 while Zois scored a 9.800. Silverman posted a 9.750, Whitman a 9.725 and York finished the beam lineup with a 9.675.
ROTATION THREE – FLOOR (49.300)
Led by Whitman's podium finish, Chambliss posted a 9.900 and Deana Sheremeta and York added matching 9.825s. Silverman posted a 9.800 and Payton Lynch completed the floor rotation with a 9.750.
ROTATION FOUR – VAULT (49.225)
GW finished the afternoon on vault led by Chambliss and Zois with matching 9.875s, a career-best for Zois. Munnelly, Whitman and York each scored 9.825s and Katz completed the lineup with a 9.875.
UP NEXT
The Buff & Blue will head to New Hampshire for EAGL Championships on Saturday, March 18, and will compete at either 1 p.m. or 7 p.m., to be determined by final league standings.
