Caro ties career-high with 11 saves
WASHINGTON – Held to just five goals on the afternoon, GW lacrosse dropped a 16-5 decision at American on Wednesday.
American opened the scoring with a pair of goals before Kerry McKeever scored her first of two in the game to cut the Eagles' lead in half. American then tallied two more scores to GW's one from Amber Germer, holding a two-goal advantage after one quarter.
American potted a game-high six goals in the second frame, outscoring the Buff & Blue 6-1 to take a 10-3 lead into halftime.
Six second-half goals for the home team helped American cruise to the victory, limiting GW to a pair of goals in the third and fourth quarters, with one from Amelia Moran and McKeever.
NOTEWORTHY
- McKeever and Germer led GW in scoring with two goals apiece, with Moran netting GW's other goal. McKeever and Germer each took a team-high four shots, with McKeever putting three on net.
