GW heads to Stetson on Feb. 24 for first road test
WASHINGTON – GW lacrosse was unable to contain a potent Temple offense on Saturday, dropping its second contest of the season, 15-6, at the Mount Vernon Lacrosse Field.
Six first-quarter goals helped to a Temple advantage at 6-2 after the first 15 minutes of play. Whitney Moran scored the first goal for the Buff & Blue at the 10-minute mark before Kiki Rotay connected on a free position shot in a man-up opportunity for her first career goal.
After nearly eight minutes of scoreless play to start the second quarter, Emily Mowbray found the back of the net for her third goal of the season. The Owls' first goal wouldn't come until the six-minute mark in the second frame and would be quickly answered by Kerry McKeever to keep GW within striking distance. However, Temple padded its lead with a pair of tallies, heading into halftime up 9-4.
Amber Germer scored first to begin the second half, but Temple went on a 6-1 run to close out the remainder of the game to take home the 15-6 victory.
