Golf Opens Spring Season at Savannah Intercollegiate

Buff & Blue aim to build off record-breaking fall campaign
WASHINGTON -Â GW golf is set to start its spring season this weekend at the Savannah Intercollegiate in Savannah, Ga. The Buff & Blue will play 36 holes on Saturday followed by the final 18 on Sunday.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS
GW will be paired with Troy, Columbia and Longwood to begin the weekend. Fairleigh Dickinson, Holy Cross, Lafayette, NC Central, North Dakota State, Northern Kentucky, Sacred Heart, SCAD, South Carolina-Beaufort and St. Bonaventure round out the field.
ABOUT THE FALL SEASON
GW broke 27 program records in the fall season, including the lowest 36-hole score (-22, 554) and lowest 54-hole score (-35, 829) in program history. The Buff & Blue also averaged a program-best 284.5 team scoring average and had nine team rounds under par out of 15 played.
Individually, four Colonials posted under a 72.0 scoring average with Jakub Hrinda posting a 69.93 for the lowest semester average in program history. Hrinda was the individual champion of the Pacific Visit Stockton Invitational and set the GW record for 18 holes (62), 36 holds (132) and 54 holes (199).
Rodrigo Barahona recorded the lowest semester first-year scoring average in program history with a 70.67. He also carded the lowest 18-hole score by a first-year (65) and the lowest 54-hole score by a rookie (205). Classmate Manual Barbachano nabbed the lowest 36-hole score by a first-year of 138.
