Colonials finish third overall in first spring event

SAVANNAH, Ga. - First-year Manuel Barbachano shot a 7-under 209 to tie for the individual title at the Savannah Intercollegiate over the weekend, leading GW golf to a third-place team finish.

The Buff & Blue finished with a 5-over 869 as a team, shooting a 290, 288 and 291 in the three rounds. Barbachano opened play with a 1-under 71 and 2-under 70 during Saturday's 36 holes. He then roared to the top of the leaderboard with a 4-under 68 to share the individual championship with North Dakota State's Brock Winter.
