Senior wins second individual title of the season
SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. -Â Senior Jakub Hrinda racked up his second win of the season, shooting a 13-under 203 to win by two shots at the Ross Collegiate Classic. GW finished in a tie for third as a team at the event with a 4-over 868.
Hrinda, who won the Visit Stockton Invitational in October, topped the field of 92 with three rounds under par. He started the tournament with a 6-under 66 before adding a 3-under 69 in Monday's second 18. Entering Tuesday tied atop the leaderboard, the native Slovakian shot a 4-under 68 to secure the individual crown.
GW saved its best for last as a team, shooting a 3-under 285 on Tuesday following rounds of 287 and 296 on Monday to finish in a tie for third with Elon. South Florida won the event with a 15-under 849, 10 shots clear of second place Loyola Maryland.
