
Volleyball Heads to Delaware for Midweek Matchup

WASHINGTON – GW volleyball will visit Delaware on Wednesday for a 5 p.m. matchup at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark, Del.
LAST TIME OUTÂ
GW began the Katie Reifert era last weekend with matches vs. New Orleans and American as part of the DC Challenge. After dropping its home opener to the Privateers in straight sets, GW stole a set at American but was unable to force a fifth set, falling 3-1 at Bender Arena.
DYNAMIC DRELLINGÂ
In both matches, Elizabeth Drelling led GW's offense, including an impressive 20-kill career-high outing at American behind .364 efficiency. On Friday, Drelling registered 14 kills with a .200 hit percentage. This weekend marked the second and third time in her career that the junior outside hitter has put together a double-figure offensive match. Drelling last posted 17 kills vs. Delaware State on January 30, 2021.
BLOCK PARTYÂ
Tierra Porter and Addie Feek lead the team with 11 blocks apiece. Porter, a graduate transfer from Florida Southern, recorded a team-leading eight blocks at American on Saturday. Feek recorded six blocks in GW's season opener and five at American. Feek led the 2021 squad with 80 blocks, including a career-high 12 vs. Duquesne on September 25, 2021.
SCOUTING THE BLUE HENSÂ
Delaware will begin its home slate on Wednesday after opening its season with a pair of losses vs. Temple and Seton Hall. Lani Mason leads the Blue Hens with 40 kills after posting a career-best 26 in the season opener vs. the Owls. Wednesday will be the 15th time the two teams will meet, with GW holding a 10-4 all-time record.
