Volleyball Places Three on All-Conference Teams, Faces Duquesne in A-10 Quarterfinals

GW volleyball's Taylor Treahy, Sydney Hasenfratz and Abby Markworth have been named to the A-10's All-Conference list, the conference announced on Thursday afternoon.
After being named to the All-Rookie team a season ago, Treahy continued to be a standout in her sophomore season to earn All-Conference First Team honors. Ranking third on the team in kills, Treahy totaled 281 over the course of the season, including a career-best 29 against George Mason, a figure that ties the A-10's single-match high this season. On the other side of the net, she compiled 71 total blocks and 95 digs. Treahy ranked in the top-10 in the conference in kills per set, kills and points.

Hasenfratz made the A-10 All-Conference Second Team in her final collegiate season as a force in the middle for the GW Revs. In A-10 play, the graduate student earned the fourth-highest hitting percentage in the league, swinging over .300 in 14 matches, including five over a .500 clip. The middle blocker amassed 277 kills, the fourth highest on the team, and led the Revolutionaries in blocks with 109, putting her at ninth overall in the league for conference play. This marks Hasenfratz's first All-A-10 honor.
Setter Abby Markworth captained GW's offense all season long, earning 1,058 regular season assists, and led the conference in A-10 play with 754 to average 10.19/set en route to All-Conference Second Team honors. The sophomore setter helped five GW attackers to over 200 season kills, while adding in 52 of her own. This is the first All-Conference honor for Markworth.

The Revolutionaries and Dukes met in the final weekend of the regular season conference series, and both went in the favor of GW in five sets. The winner of Friday's matchup will advance to the semifinals to take on reigning A-10 Champion Loyola Chicago at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
