ATHENS, Ga. - GW volleyball completed its opening weekend at the Classic City Clash by falling to North Florida in four sets (19-25, 20-25, 25-13, 19-25) on Saturday afternoon.

The first set was the most back-and-forth of the day featuring 12 ties and six lead changes before the Ospreys pulled away for the 25-19 win, before going wire-to-wire in a 25-20 win in set two.

GW responded with a strong third set in a 25-13 win, using four blocks to force UNF into a -.226 hitting percentage and get back in the match. The Ospreys responded by never giving up the lead in the fourth set and finished strong to pull out the match, 25-19.

Cayla Cogan once again led GW's attack with 11 kills, while also adding two blocks. Riley Samuel tallied six rejections and three kills while Abby Markworth dished out 24 assists with seven digs and three kills.

UNF outhit GW, .150 to .084, with a 49-34 advantage in kills while the Revolutionaries tallied 11 blocks to the Ospreys' four.

The Buff & Blue return to action with three games next weekend at the Summit Hospitality Tournament, hosted by NC State in Raleigh, N.C. GW will face the host Wolfpack on Friday at 6 p.m., followed by Charlotte on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Wofford on Sunday at 12 p.m.
