Richmond, Va.- GW volleyball fell, 3-1, on Friday afternoon in the first round of the A-10 Championship. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

·      The first two frames were a tight battle, but it was Duquesne who came out ahead with a 2-0 lead after claiming both sets in extras, 26-24. 

·      The Buff & Blue fought in the third and dominated the set, 25-13, but ultimately it was the Dukes who came away in the fourth set, 25-21, to win the match and advance to the semifinals.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

·       Both Alexis Rodriguez and Cayla Cogan hit in double figures, combining for 31 of GW's 56 kills. 
·       All-Conference setter Abby Markworth dished out 46 assists and All-Conference selection Sydney Hasenfratz led with seven blocks. 
·       Penelope Hiepler paced the backcourt with a season-high 17 digs.
 
GW finishes its 2025 campaign with its most conference wins since 2000 (12) and the best regular-season finish since 2014.
