8/25/2026 2:00:00 PM | Women's Volleyball
In a preseason poll unveiled by the A10, the George Washington volleyball team was predicted to return to the postseason conference tournament, ranking fifth in the league behind perennial Atlantic 10 contender Dayton, plus Loyola Chicago, VCU and George Mason. Dayton (eight first-place votes), Loyola Chicago (two first-place votes) and VCU have combined to win every conference championship since 2014.Â
The Revolutionaries slot in ahead of Duquesne, Davidson, Saint Louis, Rhode Island and Fordham in the 10-team circuit.Â
Headlined by eight returners, including All-Conference setter Abby Markworth, and nine newcomers consisting of five first-years and four transfer students, George Washington will open regular season play on the road this weekend in a multi-team event in Athens, Ga. with Furman, the host Bulldogs and UNF.
GW's home opener is versus Howard on September 19.Â
