Volleyball Drops to Georgetown in Three

George Washington volleyball traveled to Georgetown on Friday evening for their second match of the week. The District event between the Revolutionaries and Hoyas concluded with a three-set loss for GW (17-25, 13-25, 22-25).
In the first set, the teams traded blows for the first 15 points. Each team recorded 39 attacks, but the Hoyas had nine kills over the Revolutionaries.
As the second set began, the Hoyas went unanswered for six consecutive points, and the Revolutionaries were unable to narrow the deficit.
The GW Revs were able to gain traction in the third set, but even with a five-point lead, the Hoyas aggressiveness at the net closed the gap. The two teams exchanged points until the very end, but eventually the final set was awarded to Georgetown.
