George Washington and Saint Louis competed for the second time this weekend in the Charles E. Smith Center. The match ended in a five-set win in favor of the Revolutionaries (21-25, 26-24, 25-18, 22-25, 15-12).

The Buff and Blue got off to a slow start in the first set with 11 kills and 11 errors, leading to the set going to the Billikens. Moving into the second set, the GW Revs looked to gain some momentum and took the set all the way to a 26-24 win.

That energy propelled the team into the third set with 14 kills, two errors and a .462 hitting percentage.

The final two sets were neck-and-neck with each team trading major plays with a sharp backcourt. The fourth set went to the Billikens, 22-25, but the final set and overall match win went to the Revolutionaries.

The George Washington offense was led by Alexis Rodriguez with 17 kills and Cayla Cogan with 16 kills of her own. The defense was held together with 14 digs by libero Lydia Zeng and 10 digs by Niconora Clarke.

UP NEXT: The Buff and Blue are on the road next week for two matches in Richmond against Virginia Commonwealth University on Oct. 2 and 3. Both matches will be broadcast on ESPN+.
