PHILADELPHIA – GW lacrosse concluded its road slate at Saint Joseph's on Thursday, falling 18-8 to the Hawks at Sweeney Field.
After GW found itself in a 2-0 deficit to open the first quarter, Kendall Lambert sparked GW's offense with back-to-back goals just two minutes apart to tie the game. The Hawks rounded out the first quarter with two more tallies to push to another two-goal lead.
Amber Germer started the offense in the second quarter, but a 7-0 run by the home team set up for an 11-4 lead at halftime.
After the break, the Buff & Blue garnered momentum, scoring four unanswered, including a pair from Katelyn Walker and one from Alana Greene and Sophia Watkinson. Following Watkinson's goal, Saint Joseph's rode a seven-goal scoring streak to put the game out of reach and improve to 10-5 on the season.
