PHILADELPHIA – GW lacrosse outscored La Salle 6-0 in the opening 30 minutes of play to earn an 11-5 victory over the Explorers on Friday.
GW had eight different goal scorers, including Tori Hampton, Kendall Lambert and Bailey Aaron, who each tallied two goals. Aaron opened up the scoring in the final minute of the first quarter and then scored again in the early stages of the second frame. GW held La Salle scoreless for the entire first half and scored four other times to head into halftime up 6-0.
The home team got on the board with four minutes remaining in the third quarter, but Lambert scored her first of the game two minutes later to push the Buff & Blue lead back to six. La Salle netted a pair to cut the GW lead to five, but three unanswered by Lambert, Katie Lederman and Sophia Watkinson gave GW its largest lead of the afternoon at 11-3.
