Lacrosse Aims for Two-Straight Wins at Home

GW hosts Gardner-Webb on Monday at 3 p.m.
WASHINGTON – GW lacrosse will look to earn back-to-back wins at home when it welcomes Gardner-Webb to the Mount Vernon Lacrosse Field for a 3 p.m. opening draw on Monday.
LAST TIME OUT
Behind seven different goal scorers and a six-goal second half, GW celebrated its first victory of the season on home turf on Wednesday in an 11-9 win over American. Amber Germer tallied her first points of the season in a three-goal outing for the junior midfielder. Mia Caro made her first career start in net, making eight saves on 24 shots faced.

First-year Emily Mowbray proved to be instrumental to GW's offensive success on Wednesday. The Phoenix, Md., native tallied a career-high four points with two goals and two assists. In a one-score game with four minutes remaining, Mowbray fed Kendall Lambert for what would be the final score of the game. Mowbray is second on the team in goals (3) and assists (2).
A LOOK AT GARDNER-WEBB
Gardner-Webb is 2-2 on the season, with its two wins coming vs. Howard and Akron. Talen Francis and Jada Preston lead the Bulldogs with nine and eight goals, respectively. Preston is also tied for first on the squad with six assists. In addition, Maddie Martin was recently named Big South Defensive Player of the Week after picking up a career-high seven ground balls, snagging seven draw controls and causing two turnovers in the team's 17-7 win over Akron.
