
Gymnastics Shines in First-Place Finish at Nebraska

Garfoot registers personal best 9.900 on bars, earns bars title
LINCOLN, Neb. – Behind its second-straight 195.850, GW gymnastics took home a first-place finish in its tri-meet with Nebraska and Lindenwood. The host Cornhuskers posted a 194.925 and the Lindenwood Lions earned a 193.350.
Omaha, Neb., native Libby Garfoot returned to her home state, and in perfect fashion, Garfoot posted a personal best 9.900 on bars. Garfoot topped the podium with the career-high, her first event title of the season. Garfoot's leading score helped GW to a season-best 49.150 on the event.
With the first-place finish coming down to the final rotation, Sarah Zois led GW's beam team with a career-high 9.850. Olivia Raymond tied her personal best with a 9.800 to finish ahead of the host and No. 30 nationally-ranked Huskers.
Kendall Whitman earned the floor title with a 9.850.
ROTATION ONE
GW began its evening on floor led by Whitman's 9.850. Payton Lynch, Olivia Zona and Raymond added 9.750s and Deja Chambliss registered a 9.725. Marlee York wrapped up the floor rotation with a 9.675.
ROTATION TWO
GW moved to vault for rotation two, with Chambliss continuing to lead the squad with a 9.875. Rachel Katz posted a 9.800. York tied her career-high with a 9.775 and Zois and Whitman added 9.750s. Hannah Munnelly finished the vault lineup with a 9.725.
ROTATION THREE
The Buff & Blue took to bars for their third event, led by Garfoot's 9.900. Raymond registered a 9.850 while Banen added a 9.825. Chambliss posted a 9.800 and Katz and Silverman rounded out the bars lineup with a pair of 9.775s.
ROTATION FOUR
GW finished its night on beam powered by Zois' 9.850. Whitman posted a 9.825, Raymond earned a 9.800, Silverman posted a 9.750, Chambliss added a 9.700 and Banen finished the night with a 9.675.
