Lacrosse Downed at Davidson, 15-10

Walker, Lederman, Watkinson net two goals apiece
DAVIDSON, N.C. – GW lacrosse began its conference slate at Davidson on Friday night, falling to the Wildcats, 15-10.
Davidson's offense began its attack early, scoring seven unanswered before Emily Mowbray connected with Sophia Watkinson to put GW on the board. The Wildcats would add six more goals in the remainder of the first half, with GW's offense finding the back of the net four more times to head into halftime down 13-5.
GW allowed just two Wildcat goals on eight shots faced in the final two quarters. Katelyn Walker, Amber Germer and Kendall Lambert scored in the third quarter to cut the Wildcat lead to six with 15 minutes remaining.
GW and Davidson endured a scoring drought for the first ten minutes of the fourth quarter until Katie Lederman potted her second of the day in the final five minutes of play. Davidson and GW scored one more time, but the Wildcats' first-half success proved to be the difference-maker, lifting the home team to its first conference victory of the season.
Megan Patrick made the start in net, making nine saves. Mia Caro saw action in the second half, allowing five goals on eight shots faced.
