Lacrosse Opens Conference Play Against Davidson, Richmond

GW to visit Davidson on Friday, host Richmond on Sunday
WASHINGTON – GW lacrosse will begin its Atlantic 10 Conference slate with a pair of games this weekend, first visiting Davidson on Friday at 6:30 p.m., then welcoming Richmond to the Mount Vernon Campus on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both games will be available on ESPN+.
LAST TIME OUT
Behind a season-high offensive output, GW picked up a dominant 14-4 victory over Longwood on Saturday. Amber Germer scored four times for her second hat trick of the season. In addition to Germer, four others finished the day with multi-score outings, including Tori Hampton, Katelyn Walker and Lizzie Heyn. Emily Mowbray and Maddy O'Brien tallied one score apiece, with Mowbray adding two assists for a three-point day.
A LOOK AT DAVIDSON
The Wildcats are 6-1 on the season, with their only loss coming at No. 8 Duke. Junior Erin Cooke earned her first Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honor after leading Davidson in its six-straight wins to open the season. Cooke registered a career-high eight points on a personal-best five goals and three assists in the team's win over ECU. Cooke is third on the team with 13 goals, behind Gracey Fahey (18) and Gianna New (20).
SCOUTING THE SPIDERS
Richmond (6-2) will begin conference play at La Salle on Friday before heading to DC on Sunday. The Spiders' two losses were against ranked opponents in Virginia (No. 14) and James Madison (No. 21). Lindsey Frank leads Richmond with 17 goals, and Arden Tierney and Colleen Quinn are tied for second on the team with 15 goals.
