Women’s Tennis Welcomes Gabriela Giraldo

Transfer set to join Buff & Blue in fall 2022
WASHINGTON – GW women's tennis will add University of Houston transfer Gabriela Giraldo to its roster this fall, Head Coach Torrie Browning announced on Tuesday.
At University of Houston: Put together a 19-12 singles record at Houston … 2021 Texas Regional consolation winner … 2021 UTR Tournament winner … Clinched the doubles point against Tulane (2021).
Junior Playing Career: Earned her highest ITF ranking of No. 181 in July 2019 … 15K Bogota Professional Tennis Tournament Quarterfinalist in 2018 … Represented her home country of Colombia at Regional and World Championships.
Giraldo on coming to GW: "I am extremely excited to be joining the GW tennis family! This program is the right fit for me academically and athletically. I can't wait to join the team this fall!"
Browning on Giraldo: " I am very excited that Gabriela will be joining us in the fall. She is a very talented player and has shown that from her time playing junior tennis to her time at the University of Houston. Gabriela will not only bring a high level of playing ability to our program but is also strong academically. Ultimately, she is going to be a great fit for our program."
