Colonials take on Hawks in rescheduled contest at 7 p.m.
WASHINGTON - Fresh off its thrilling last-second win vs. George Mason Monday, GW men's basketball opens up a three-game road swing on Wednesday evening at Saint Joseph's in a makeup of a game originally scheduled for Jan. 2. Tip-off from Hagan Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
GET OUT OF HIS WAY: Joe Bamisile's 26-point performance on Monday set a new career-high and marked his third game of 25 points or more in the last five games (25 vs. Radford and Dayton). Bamisile has averaged 20.7 ppg through the first three conference games and leads the A-10 in scoring among players who have played multiple league games.
Bamisile now has five 20-point efforts this season, most on the team, and the Colonials are 3-2 in those games. The sophomore is now averaging 18.6 ppg and shooting 52% in GW wins compared to 12.6 ppg and shooting 40% in GW losses.
DA DA DA, DA DA DA: Bamisile threw down two more highlight-reel slams on Monday, bringing his team-leading dunk total to 16 on the season. He also made SportsCenter's Top 10 for the second time this year, earning the #2 spot. The Colonials' win was featured as Scott Van Pelt's "Best Thing I Saw Today" on Monday, leading off his nightly show.
THREE-HEADED MONSTER: In addition to Bamisile's 20.7 ppg in conference play, James Bishop (17.0) and Brayon Freeman (13.3) have also reached double figures in each of the three league games. The trio is combining to average 51.0 ppg over the last three contests while the rest of the team has scored a combined 39 points (13.0 per game). Necessitated partly by injury, Bamisile, Bishop and Freeman have taken 74% of the team's shots and 80% of the team's threes.
A LOOK AT THE HAWKS: Saint Joseph's started the A-10 season with an impressive 83-56 road blowout of Richmond, but has since lost three straight games all by double digits. Most recently, the Hawks blew a 14-point first half lead on Monday to crosstown rival La Salle in a 75-64 setback.
