Preciado sinks first career hole-in-one

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – GW golf wrapped up its first tournament of the fall season on Sunday, finishing 16th overall at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational hosted by Air Force.

The weekend was highlighted by a par-three hole-in-one by Luis Preciado on Friday from 142 yards.

Jakub Hrinda picked up right where he left off in the spring, leading GW with a one-over-par 217. Hrinda tied for 22nd overall on the player leaderboard after finishing at or under par in two of the three rounds (72-71-74).

In round one, Hugo Riboud shot a 79 before recording a pair of one-under-par 71s to finish the weekend 41st overall.

Arav Patel and Florian Blatti made their Buff and Blue debuts, finishing 79th and 88th, respectively.

Cliff Thompson tied for 13th overall on the individual leaderboard with a six-over-par 222.

UP NEXT: GW will participate in the River Run Collegiate hosted by Davidson at the River Run Country Club in Davidson, N.C. The two-day tournament is scheduled for Sept. 20-21.
