Women’s Tennis Blanks Fordham to Advance to Semifinals

GW will play VCU on Friday at 3 p.m.
ORLANDO – The GW women's tennis team earned its second consecutive shutout on Thursday, topping Fordham, 4-0, to advance to the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 tournament.
Alexis Nelson/Lindsay Thompson and Charlotte Bell/Alexandra Vesikallio earned 6-2 wins in their respective doubles matches to help the team secure its first point of the afternoon.
In singles play, Bell and Nelson won in straight sets. Stella Wiesemann topped her opponent in three sets to help GW clinch the victory and advance to the A-10 semifinals.
GW will face No. 1 VCU on Friday at 3 p.m.
