Volleyball Heads to Fordham, Rhode Island

GW to play on Friday and Saturday
WASHINGTON -Â GW volleyball is back on the road this weekend, visiting Fordham on Friday for a 5 p.m. start and Rhode Island on Saturday with first serve at 7 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT:Â GW began its conference road slate last weekend, dropping matches at Davidson and VCU.
ALL AROUNDER:Â Salem Yohannes led the Buff & Blue offense in both of GW's matches last weekend and has now led offensively in nine of the team's 15 contests this season. Yohannes' 21 kills over the weekend helped boost her team-leading total to 130, good enough for eighth in the conference. As an all-around threat, Yohannes also owns the ninth spot in the A-10 with 119 digs, averaging 2.77/set.
RAMS x2:Â Fordham (3-11) and Rhode Island (8-11) are both seeking their first conference victories of the season after opening their respective A-10 slates 0-3. Outside hitter Whitley Moody is Fordham's top offensive threat with 192 kills and 3.69 k/s to rank fourth in the conference. Junior libero Mallory Lipski is second in the A-10 with her team-leading 249 digs. Rhode Island's Grace Hammond is fifth in the conference with 383 assists and also owns the five spot with 24 aces. On the attack, Jamie Smith leads Rhode Island with 154 kills.
