WASHINGTON – George Washington women's tennis head coach Torrie Browning has announced the hiring of Dzina Milovanovic (pronounced Gina) as an assistant coach.
"I am extremely excited to have Dzina join the program," said Browning. "Her experience playing at a top D1 level program and her experience as being a student-coach will definitely bring a lot to our team. She will bring tons of enthusiasm and positivity to the program. Dzina will be a great mentor to the girls as well."
A native of Belgrade, Serbia, Milovanovic comes to GW after graduating from Pepperdine University in the Fall of 2019, where she ranked as high as No. 44 in the Oracle/ITA singles rankings and No. 39 in doubles alongside teammate Jessica Failla. Milovanovic had a decorated career at Pepperdine and was a member of the squad that advanced to the NCAA Team Championship quarterfinals in 2016, 2017 and 2019. She also reached the quarterfinal of the USTA/ITA Southwest Regional Championship in 2016 and semifinal in 2017. In 2018, she also helped her squad to the finals of the ITA National Team Indoor Championships.
In addition to her athletic accolades at Pepperdine, Milovanovic also excelled off the court and was four-time Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete.
"I'm looking forward to joining the George Washington program and becoming a Colonial," said Milovanovic. "I'm excited to work with Torrie Browning and the girls on the team to help the program reach new goals and accomplishments."
