Colonials rank 22nd among mid-majors
WASHINGTON – The George Washington women's tennis recruiting class of Charlotte Bell, Lindsay Thompson, and Stella Wiesemann earned national acclaim from the Tennis Recruiting Network last week, ranking 22nd among all mid-majors.
Additionally, the Colonials are one of two schools to represent the Atlantic 10 in the top-25 mid-major recruiting rankings, with Massachusetts ranking seventh among all mid-majors.
Authored each of the last 15 years, the TRN mid-major rankings include all colleges outside of the Power 5 (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, SEC) and the Ivy League.
"I am really excited about this recruiting class," said head coach Torrie Browning. "Stella, Lindsay and Charlotte embody everything I was looking for in the next recruiting class to help continue to build this program. In particular, it's great to keep local DMV talent here in the area with Charlotte (Great Falls, Va.) and Lindsay (Towson, Md.). All three of these young women are smart, hardworking, and most importantly just a great group of girls. I can't wait to get started with them this fall."
The Colonials will gain a pair of four-star players in DMV products Charlotte Bell and Lindsay Thompson. Bell is set to join the Buff and Blue after ranking second in Virginia and 169th nationally, while Thompson ranks 143rd in the TRN rankings after garnering IAAM All-Conference Team honors all four years at Bryn Mawr School.
Weisemann, a native of Germany, is not rated on the star scale due to her international status, but is ranked as the #40 player in the class and has a UTR of 10.53.
