GW women's tennis alum Kamilla Beisenova ('18) earns Capgemini Colonial of the Week honors after working as a technician in the emergency department at GW Hospital.
The 2018 alum has had to adapt to the changing conditions in the emergency department, where she was typically starting IV lines, drawing blood work, doing EKGs, and helping with any other tasks at hand to assist with overall patient care. With the current COVID-19 pandemic, she is now also responsible for swabbing patients who are getting tested for COVID-19 and helping assist the influx of patients with respiratory distress.
"I began working as a tech in the emergency department after receiving my EMT license," said Beisenova. "I was really excited to work as a tech to gain experience with clinical work and patient care, helping me prepare towards my future goal of becoming a doctor. I have always had a passion for learning about science and the human body as well as taking care of people and helping them through tough times. Becoming a doctor is my dream, and something that will help me tie all the things I love together."
