Women’s Tennis Makes Fall Debut on Friday

Colonials debut at Bedford Cup for the fourth straight season
SERVING FIRST: The George Washington women's tennis squad opens play for its fall season at the Bedford Mid-Atlantic Cup in College Park, Md., beginning on Friday.
FIRST LOOK: The Colonials will have a new look this season after graduating a trio of seniors in Maria Siopacha, Sara Grubac, and Victoria Kogan. Making their Buff and Blue debuts at the Bedford Cup are first-years Luciana Kunkel and Sarah Bodewes along with sophomore transfer Alexandra Vesikallio. The three newcomers join lone upperclassman Melis Bayraktaroglu and the sophomore pair of Katarina Marinkovikj and Xenia de Luna.
PERFECT PAIR: The Buff and Blue's doubles pairs at the Bedford Cup will be: Melis Bayraktaroglu / Katarina Marinkovikj, Sarah Bodewes / Luciana Kunkel, and Alexandra Vesikallio / Xenia de Luna.
COLONIALS' COMPETITION: GW is set to compete against a field of seven other schools this weekend: Georgetown, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Towson, Loyola, Maryland, and A-10 foe Richmond.
