Volleyball Completes Perfect Weekend with Sweep of Coppin State

Colonials run winning streak to four straight
WASHINGTON, D.C. – GW volleyball finished off an unblemished weekend at the Dig The District Invitational with a straight-set sweep of Coppin State at the Smith Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Colonials (6-5) have won four in a row in advance of conference play beginning next weekend.
GW 3, Coppin State 0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-17)
Key Stats
• The Colonials had their best defensive showing of the year, limiting the Eagles (2-12) to an .038 attack percentage (31k-27e-104a).
• GW racked up eight blocks and hit .240 (40k-16e-100a) as a team with four players recording at least eight kills.
• Junior Jaimeson Lee tallied her ninth double-double in 11 games with 33 assists and 10 digs.
• Sophomore Callie Fauntleroy earned the start and racked up eight block assists, one shy of a career best.

• The Colonials opened up an early stalemate with a 7-1 run to grab a decisive 22-14 advantage.
• GW forced 10 Eagle attack errors while hitting .258 themselves. Iott and Young recorded five kills each.
Set 3: GW 25, Coppin State 17
• GW put the match away convincingly, using a five-run edge to take the lead for good at 6-3.
• Fauntleroy made her presence known, finishing with four block assists and ending the match with her lone kill.
