WASHINGTON – The George Washington women's tennis program added experience to its roster for the 2018-19 season with the addition of transfer Elena Schneider, head coach Torrie Browning announced on Wednesday.
Schneider will join the Buff and Blue as a sophomore transferring from Arizona. A native of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Schneider ranked as high as 205th nationally for her class and was recognized by the Charleston Women's Tennis Association and South Carolina USTA in high school. The incoming sophomore appeared in one match for the Wildcats during her debut season.
"I'm really excited for Elena to be joining our team this Fall," said Browning. "I believe her experiences coming from a Pac-12 school will enhance our team. She's an extremely hard worker and more importantly a great student. I think she has great growth potential and I believe she will flourish in our program."
Schneider will join six returners for the 2018-19 season.
