Isaiah Pasteur picked up another accolade following his historic 2018 season as the third baseman has been named an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings Third Team All-American.
Pasteur becomes the 10th GW student-athlete to earn All-America status and the first since Tom Zebroski in 2010. He joins a prestigious list of Colonials that includes Michael Parker (2007), Brad Rosenblat (2005), Matt Walker (2000), Lance Migita (1995), Mike Welch (1991), Gregg Ritchie (1986) and Kevin Fitzgerald (1985).
The Maryland native made an immediate impact in his first season playing for GW after transferring from Indiana University. He led the Atlantic 10 in four offensive categories while ranking in the top three in five more and set the program record with a 32-game hitting streak. Pasteur finished the season batting .331 with 32 extra-base hits, including 11 home runs, and stole 31 bases on 34 attempts. A two-way player, he also made 12 appearances on the mound and accumulated a 2-1 record with a 3.45 ERA.
Pasteur became the fourth Colonial to earn A-10 Player of the Year honors before picking up the same award from the Eastern College Athletic Conference. The New York Yankees selected Pasteur in the 13th round of the MLB Draft on June 6.
Pasteur's selection as an All-American follows his inclusion on the ABCA/Rawling All-East Region First Team along with teammates Mark Osis and Dominic D'Alessandro. That marked the first time in program history three Colonials earned first-team nods.
