Colonials hold steady in second after two days
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Moritz Fath posted his second win in as many days for George Washington men's swimming and diving on Saturday at the Queens University Fall Frenzy.
Fath touched in 1:38.23 to claim victory in the 200-yard freestyle, just a second off of his own program record pace set at last year's Atlantic 10 Championships. The junior from Germany was also fourth in the 400-yard individual medley and part of a runner-up finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay.
Those efforts and many more helped the Colonials hold steady in second place with 1,065 points, behind only the host Royals (1,448) heading into the final day at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center.
Emils Pone and Tommi Wolst also starred for the Buff and Blue on Saturday, each posting a pair of top-three individual finishes. Both were part of a runner-up finish in the 200-yard medley relay, as well.
