The Colonials will face the strongest fleet of the season
SETTING SAIL: The GW sailing team is set for its toughest test of the fall season as it heads to the Women's Showcase Final at Brown University this weekend, which features 18 of the top schools from across the country.
The Colonials qualified for the finals by virtue of their seventh-place finish at a showcase semifinal two weeks ago at St. Mary's. This week, they'll compete with an interconference fleet of boats that will present the strongest competition of the season.
GW will be represented by Riley Legault and Alexandra Fayer in A Division and Aitana Mendiguren and Sarah Noyes in B Division. Marie Line and Chiara Perotti Correa will be on hand as extras.
In addition to the showcase final, the Colonials will have a coed team in action at the St. Mary's Invite which features a field of nine schools from two conferences. Competing for the Colonials is Cameron Feves, Mercedes McPhee, Matt Logue, Michael Houllahan, Derek Poon-Tip, Andreea Ranney-Pace, Wade Wagner, Clare Cassidy-Gardner, Andrew Sheerin and Tanner Chapko.
