Baseball Hosts UMES in First of Two Midweek Games

MIDWEEK STREAK: The Colonials have won each of the past two midweek contests, topping Towson by a score of 13-4 last week and UMBC, 4-3, on March 21.
CAN'T K: Senior Bobby Campbell has just four strikeouts in 101 at-bats this season and enters Tuesday's game as the fifth-toughest player to strike out in all of NCAA Division I, going down on strikes once every 25.3 at-bats.
Senior Joey Bartosic also ranks among the best in the conference in the category. He currently sits at fifth in the Atlantic 10 with eight strikeouts in 113 at-bats (11.3).
STEAL YOUR WAY: Bartosic has 10 stolen bases so far this season to raise his career total to 70 swipes. His next bag will tie him with head coach Gregg Ritchie for second all-time at George Washington.
Mickey Shupin '07 is GW's all-time leader in career stolen bases with 79.
TURN TWO: GW continues to lead the Atlantic 10 and rank in the national top-15 for double plays turned. The Colonials have totaled 30 twin killings to date (12th in NCAA) at an average of 1.11 per game (13th in NCAA).
SCOUTING EASTERN SHORE: The Hawks snapped a ten-game losing streak by taking the final two games of a three-game home series against Delaware State.
Eastern Shore is 5-21 overall on the season but winless in 14 road games.
SCOUTING VIRGINIA: The No. 25 Cavaliers dropped two-of-three games at home to Louisville over the weekend. Virginia carries a 21-8 overall record into Tuesday's home game against Old Dominion.
