NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - George Washington women's tennis' Melis Bayraktaroglu has been named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week in the league's final weekly awards of the season.

The freshman helped GW win its final match of the season over Revolutionary Rival George Mason on Saturday. Bayraktaroglu began her day with a 6-2 doubles triumph in the top position before taking a straight-set, 7-5, 6-0, victory at No. 2 singles.

Bayraktaroglu garners Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season.

Bayraktaroglu and the Colonials begin play in the A-10 Championship on Wednesday in Orlando, Florida.
