Women's Tennis Opens Home Outdoor Season on Saturday

WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's tennis squad hosts Howard on Saturday for the Colonials' outdoor home opener at the GW Tennis Center on the Mount Vernon Campus.
The Colonials (7-7) compete for the first time since March 18, when GW closed its spring break road trip.
Sophomore Maria Siopacha leads the Colonials with an overall singles record of 19-9 with a team-best 9-5 dual match mark competing exclusively at the top spot. Rookie Melis Bayraktaroglu's 15-11 record and 7-5 mark in the spring rank second on the squad. As a duo, Siopacha and Bayraktaroglu have paired for a 7-5 record as the No. 1 doubles tandem.
Howard (0-5) most recently fell to Hampton University, 5-2, on Saturday.
Last season the Colonials blanked the Bison on the road, 7-0.
