LEADING OFF: The George Washington baseball team will conclude its current homestand by hosting Towson on Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at Tucker Field.
ONE MORE HOME: GW will play its fourth consecutive home game on Tuesday and for the 10th time in the last 11 games.
The Colonials will then embark on an extended road swing with the next three, and 11 of the next 14, games to be played away from their home field.
TIGER TAUNT: The Colonials have won the last four meetings against Towson with home-and-home series sweeps in each of the past two seasons.
PASS THE BAT: Senior Joey Bartosic recently saw his five-game, multi-hit game streak end but classmate Bobby Campbell has picked up right where he left off.
Campbell had four multiple-hit games last week and batted .588 in four games with two doubles, one home run and two RBIs.
His multi-hit run included going 4-for-4 on Sunday against UMass. He was 8-for-13 in the weekend series against the Minutemen.
FRESHMAN RISING: After fighting through a brief rookie slump, freshman Nate Fassnacht rebounded and hit safely in all four games last weekend, batting .375 (6-for-16) for the week with two runs and two RBIs.
For the season he is batting .289 with 10 runs, seven walks, three doubles and four RBIs.
SCOUTING TOWSON: The Tigers started the year 6-1 but have fallen to 8-10 on the season after losing the last seven games in a row.
Towson is batting .213 as a team while its pitching staff has worked to a combined ERA of 4.73.
