LEADING OFF: The George Washington baseball team will play its lone road game in an 11-of-12 games at home stretch with a visit to UMBC on Tuesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Alumni Field in Baltimore, Maryland.
ON A ROLL: The Colonials have won two in a row and five of their last six games after taking two of three from Monmouth over the weekend at Tucker Field.
DOUBLE BLANK: GW's pitching staff and defense combined for consecutive shutouts over Monmouth to take the series. The Colonials overpowered the Hawks by a 12-0 score in Saturday's win before closing the weekend with a 4-0 blanking of the visitors.
BARTOSIC'S BAT: GW's leadoff man Joey Bartosic was on fire at the plate as the Colonials won their weekend series over Monmouth. Bartosic recorded multiple hits in all three games while collecting four RBIs.
For the week he batted .615 (8-for-13) with three runs and four RBIs while slugging .692 with a .643 on-base percentage.
D-UP: The Colonials' defense has played a huge role in the team's success over the past two weekends. GW leads the Atlantic 10 in fielding percentage (.978), double plays (19) and double plays per game (1.06).
SERIES HISTORY: The team split last year's series with each squad winning on the road. The Colonials continue to lead the all-time series, 31-18.
