Women's Tennis Begins Spring Break Competition on Tuesday

WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's tennis team begins a three-match spring break road swing on Tuesday at Florida Atlantic. The Colonials will then face Connecticut on Thursday at FAU before closing a busy week of competition at Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday.
The Colonials (7-4) will compete for the first time since March 4, when GW downed ITA Atlantic Region foe Liberty on the road, 4-3.
The Buff and Blue have won six of their last seven contests. Sophomore Maria Siopacha leads the Colonials in the singles win column, posting an 8-3 mark at the top spot. Freshman Melis Bayraktaroglu is off to a stellar start this spring with a 7-2 record in solo play.
FAU (5-8) has dropped its last three matches and will take on UConn on Monday before hosting the Colonials on Tuesday.
UConn (4-7) has dropped its last five contests and will face NIU on Tuesday in addition to Monday's match before taking on GW.
FGCU (6-3) takes two consecutive wins into the week and will host Georgia Southern and No. 15 Duke before the Colonials visit on Saturday.
