NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - George Washington baseball senior first baseman Bobby Campbell has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
It marks the third weekly honor from the conference in Campbell's career. He was the Player of the Week once last season and the A-10 Rookie of the Week as a freshman in 2014.
Campbell was on fire at the plate last week, hitting safely in four games with a trio of multiple-hit games, to lead the Colonials to a 3-1 record.
He was 2-for-3 with a walk in Tuesday's loss to No. 8 Virginia before going a combined 5-for-10 with one home run, five RBIs, a walk and a steal in the Colonials' sweep of NJIT.
For the week he batted .538 (7-for-13) with one double, one home run, five RBIs, two walks and a steal while slugging .846 with a .588 on-base percentage.
