The George Washington baseball team looks to get back on track as the regular season begins to wind down. The Buff & Blue hit the road for four games this week, including a matinee matchup at Towson on Tuesday at noon on FloCollege, followed by a three-game series at George Mason. Game times in Fairfax are set for Friday at 2:00 p.m., Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and Sunday at 12:00 p.m., all carried on ESPN+.
Â
Towson enters Tuesday's game with a 16-25 overall record and a 5-16 mark in the CAA this year. The Tigers are coming off a three-game series against Stony Brook, dropping the series opener and finale but picking up a 9-7 win over the Seawolves on Saturday. Earlier this season, GW hosted Towson on March 11, falling by a score of 7-6 at Tucker Field. Towson's offense is led by Brady Nathison, who's batting .365 from the plate this season. Brian Heckleman is slashing .316 from the dish and leads the club in hits (42) and total bases (75) this year. Towson's complete 2026 stats can be found here.
Â
With just three weekends left in the A-10 regular season, GW enters its series with George Mason in a battle for the final spot in the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship. The Revolutionaries (9-12 in the conference) are currently two games behind Rhode Island (11-10), who currently holds the final spot in the postseason. George Mason (10-11) and Dayton (9-12) are also in the mix, with nine games to go in A-10 play.
Â
George Mason enters the week with a 19-22 overall record, coming off a sweep at the hands of Fordham over the weekend. After dropping the series opener in the Bronx, Saturday's game was ultimately postponed due to inclement weather. Sunday's doubleheader resulted in a 2-1 loss in seven innings and a 5-4 loss in 12 innings for the Patriots, dropping Mason out of the projected postseason line and moving Fordham into the five-seed.
Â
George Mason is led by Head Coach Shawn Camp, who's in his fourth season with the program. Camp led the Patriots to an A-10 title in 2023 and finished second in the conference standings a year ago. Offensively, Mason is paced by Terilli Luciano, who's batting .344 from the dish in 41 games. Luciano leads the club with 54 hits and holds an on-base percentage of .408. Owen Clyne is batting .338 but leads the team in RBI (35), runs scored (41) and walks (27) in 2026.
Â
Logan Rumberg and Diego Cardenas have been mainstays in George Mason's weekend rotation this season. Rumberg holds a 4-2 record in 11 starts, including a 3.97 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 59.0 innings pitched. Cardenas is 3-5 this season with a 5.92 ERA in 48.2 innings.
