Women's Cross Country Places Sixth at A-10 Championship

LEESBURG, Va. - Junior Madison Yerke clinched All-Conference honors with a 14th-place finish to lead the George Washington women's cross country team to a sixth-place finish at Saturday's Atlantic 10 Championship at Oatlands Plantation.
Notes
- GW equaled last season's championship performance by placing sixth out of 14 teams with 200 points.
- The Colonials won the tiebreaker over Fordham by virtue of having the highest-placing top finisher.
- Junior Madison Yerke earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference honors with her 14th-place finish in 18:19.10.
- Four harriers (Yerke, Halley Brown, Suzanne Dannheim, Lesley Fatica) put forth their best-ever A-10 Championship placement.
- Freshman Margaret Coogan, who had never competed in cross country prior to her rookie collegiate season, set a new personal record for the 5K in 19:30.00.
