Indoor Track Contends in Four Events at VMI Invitational

GW women's indoor track & field competed in four events at VMI's Invitational on Friday.
Starting off the day in the 60m dash, four GW Revs competed, with Janae Russell leading the way in 8.10, followed by Kamryn Holness (8.20), Megan Heidebrecht (8.32) and Praise Akinyele (8.55). Holness (9.45) and Akinyele (9.77) also ran the 60m hurdles.
Five runners competed in the 400m, paced by Amaka Agwu who notched a top-10 finish at No. 7 in 59.08. Olivia Clark finished in 1:00.27 for 13th. Marcella Mancini (1:00.48), Lainey Goldstein (1:00.85) and Cassedy Stypul (1:02.42) completed GW's quintet.
Heidebrecht also competed in the triple jump, earning a personal-best distance of 12.13m to win the day's event.
GW now turns its attention to the annual Patriot Games, hosted by George Mason in Fairfax, Va. Action in the DMV is slated for next Saturday, Jan. 31, and the schedule for the Buff & Blue is forthcoming.
