Headlined by Una Boylan's victory in the mile, Hadley Mahoney's win in the 1k and Megan Heidebrecht's winning showing in the long jump, GW's indoor track cohort kept things in chilly Fairfax, Va., hot on the track across Saturday's meet.
The Buff & Blue's first victory of the day was earned by Boylan, with the senior finishing the mile in 5:05.80, setting a new personal-best time in the race. Mahoney, who was an All-Rookie selection a season ago, earned the 1k win in 2:58.20. The run also featured a pair of top-three finishes for GW, as Claire Bohan placed second (3:00.73) and Shannon Hieber finished third (3:01.94), with both runners recording personal bests. In the mile, first-year Maya Van Horn placed third in 5:12.11, while Kaitlyn Segreti finished sixth in 5:14.83, also setting a PR.
Heidebrecht continued her standout season in the long jump, earning first place with a personal-best leap of 5.66 meters.
Additional highlights included Kamryn Holness, who set a new program record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.11, improving upon her previous program mark from last season. In the sprints, Janae Russell led GW in the 200 meters, finishing seventh in 26.68. The 400 meters saw Lainey Goldstein claim third in 1:00.01, followed by Amaka Agwu in sixth (1:00.78) and Marcella Mancini in seventh (1:00.99).
Sophomore Rylan Priest placed second in the 500 meters with a time of 1:19.94, narrowly missing her own program record. Kayla DeSousa added a 10th place finish in the event at 1:24.20. Rounding out the distance events, Deirdre Kenny finished seventh in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:19.75.
In the relays, the DMR team of Bohan, Priest, Mahoney and Lola Dinneen earned second place in their race with a time of 12:22.53, and running the 4x400m were Agwu, Olivia Clark, Mancini and Goldstein, who finished second 4:03.49 to conclude the evening.
