Indoor Track Claims Four Event Victories at Cardinal Classic

Competing in its first event of 2026 at the annual Cardinal Classic, the Buff & Blue earned four event victories on Saturday afternoon.
SPEEDY HIGHLIGHTS
* Competing as GW's sole field representative, Megan Heidebrecht earned event victories in both the long jump (5.56m) and the triple jump (11.86m).
* The Buff & Blue claimed two event victories on the track, kickstarted by the Distance Medley Relay team of Claire Bohan, Lainey Goldstein, Rylan Priest and Hadley Mahoney, who claimed their event in 12.02.17. GW's other two DMR teams came in third and sixth places, respectively.
* Running the mile, four GW runners placed in the top 10, with Una Boylan finishing runner-up in 5:10.31, Molly Weber finished third in 5:16.04, Kaitlyn Segreti finished fifth with a personal-best 5:16.19 and Rita Mazumder rounded out GW's leaderboard at eighth in 5:22.42.
* In the hurdles, Kamryn Holness and Praise Akinyele each competed, with Holness finishing fourth in the finals in 9.68 seconds, and Akinyele finishing fifth in 9.83.
* In the Revolutionaries' final track event of the day, the 400m, Olivia Clark finished the event in the leading slot, earning the win in just over a minute's time at 1:00.93. Amaka Agwu finished runner-up in 1:01.24 while Cassedy Stypul finished sixth in 1:02.79.
GW now turns its attention to the Liberty Invitational, next Friday and Saturday in Lynchburg, Va. The schedule of events for the Buff & Blue will be announced shortly.
