Distance Cohort, Heidebrecht Shine on Outdoor Track & Field’s Opening Day
3/20/2026 8:12:00 PM | Men's Track/Cross Country, Women's Track/Cross Country
The GW Revolutionaries did not waste any time getting back into the outdoor track & field season on Friday, as the team claimed four event victories at Richmond's Fred Hardy Invitational.
On the women's side, Hadley Mahoney cruised into victory in the 3k, finishing her race in 9:48.88, just under a second shy of the existing program record of 9:48.76, and seven other Revolutionaries followed in tow to finish within the top 10.
After a stellar cross country season, men's senior Michael Bohlke took to the track to win Friday's 3k, racing an 8:22.43 to win the event, and the GW men saw five other runners finish behind Bohlke in the top 10, four of whom broke the existing school record of 8:44.45 in addition to Bohlke who set the new program mark.
In the field, Megan Heidebrecht continued to impress in both the triple and long jumps, winning both of her events in her first outdoor showing at GW.
