Holness Sets Program Record on Day One of Indoor Track & Field Championships

Virginia Beach, Va.- GW kicked off its showing at the indoor track & field championships on Friday with a new program record in the 60m hurdle trials. Kamryn Holness earned a new personal-best mark in the event, finishing the event in 9.06 seconds to further solidify her name in the program record book.
In the finals, Sarah Mitchell and Kaitlyn Segreti raced in the 5k, with Segreti earning her personal-best time in 17:23.74; Mictchell and Segreti finished 11th and 12th, respectively. The Distance Medley Relay team of Deirdre Kenny, Marcella Mancini, Rylan Priest and Una Boylan also notched an eighth-place finish in the final for their event with a 12:00.83 time.
On the field side, Megan Heidebrecht and Janae Russell competed in the long jump, and each finished in the top 10, with Heidebrecht finishing seventh with 5.67m and Russell in tenth with 5.27m.
